Can my band play at Betalevel?
Generally speaking, no.
There are many live music venues in Los Angeles, whereas Betalevel is more of a “Betalevel” type of space. While we do occasionally have events with music, they’re more of a “Betalevel” type of event. You know, generally speaking.
So… can my band play at Betalevel?
Whoa there, chief. First you should know that we never charge admission and we have a policy against live drums. So please consult this pre-question checklist:
- do you hope to make any money?
- do you use a drum kit?
If you answered “yes” to any of these questions, you have flunked the pre-question checklist!

Look, we gotta be honest with you. We’re an underground hideout, so we try to nurture things that don’t really have a good home in the above-ground world. Bands, they got to do what’s right for them. Because it’s their time. Their time! Up there! Down here, it’s our time. It’s our time down here.
So if you’re calling your musical project a band, we’re already kinda skeptical.
