Has this ever happened to you? You just picked up a copy of German film critic Siegfried Krackauer’s book, From Caligari to Hitler, and you’re thinking to yourself, “One of those names is REALLY familiar, but the other one, I just can’t place!” Well, here’s your chance to fill in the gaps. We present The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari, the landmark expressionist horror film from 1920. Spooky, off-kilter sets, pasty-faced Germans doing scary things, creepy carnivals, somnambulism, mass hysteria, lunatic asylums – this one’s got everything.

Everything, that is, but sound.

That’s right, friend, this here’s one of those old “silent” films that you may have heard about, back when movies were so pretentious they wrote everything out on the screen and even the male actors wore a whole bunch of lipstick. And though numerous musicians have scored the film over the year, none of that crap was good enough for us, so we’re proud to present Ambient Force 3000 performing a live accompaniment to the film! It’s like two events for the price of one: moody, murky Germans up on the screen, and moody, murky Angelenos right before your eyes.

And if that wasn’t enough to knock your socks off, we’ll begin the evening with music by Traditional. So that’s THREE events for the price of one, and that price, my friend, is free.
