This is Not My Beautiful Writing
A Reading
Where People Read Writing That They Did Not Write

And they ask,
What is a good nice piece of beautiful writing?
It’s simply that beautiful.
Makes me feel both excited and calm at once.
Makes me feel like I am in good hands.
Does not disappoint.
A passage shines out.
A beautiful song. An advice. A sentence from a book.
Reminds myself of why I love writing so much.
For example,
1. Narrative
“I do not recollect of ever seeing my mother by the light of day. She was with me in the night. She would lie down with me, and get me to sleep, but long before I waked she was gone. Very little communication ever took place between us.”
2. Poem
“Beautiful eyes open across a pillow top,
It seems for this moment time will stop,
The earth slows and sounds wane,
A frozen moment without stain”
3. Advice
“I can also say, cheez, welcome to the first day of the rest of your friend’s baby-centric drama. I’m not picking one because there isn’t enough context here to tell me which one is right. So, back to my first answer: Your friend is happy, what a nice birthday present for you. Let her have her five minutes.”
4. Philosophy and Criticism
“Of all the faculties, you will find not one which is capable of
contemplating itself; and, consequently, not capable either of
approving or disapproving. How far does the grammatic art possess the contemplating power? As far as forming a judgement about what is written and spoken. And how far music? As far as judging about melody.”
5. Quotation from a Famous Person
“If you judge people, you have no time to love them”
Mother Teresa
